Interview Vst

Hi, Vst. “The Beast Manifesto” was released on August 27th, 2018. You must be excited?

Hi, surely we are it’s our second album after many years, we took time needed and the result for us is marvelous and terrific, perfect union of dark, dynamic and melodic passages.

First of all, we would like to know about the formation of the band. When and how was it formed? Do you think the band name ‘Vst’ perfectly decribes your music and philosophy?

Vst ws born after a jam afternoon at Mephisto’s place, we just wanted to play/write some Black Metal tunes and well it ended as the project it is now, that reunion took place in 2012 I guess, by me (Aeon) and Mephisto. Following members started joining during first album process, Sorath as bass player, Adesthor in guitars, Kerenor for the chorus and later as keyboard player for live sessions and our previous vocalist, Rumjal. Vst is the perfect name for this ritual, it’s formed by the initials of a Sumerian phrase that means: Blood thirsty warriors, and that’s what we are.

Okay now tell us something about “The Beast Manifesto”, and the lyrical themes behind each track. What are the ideas you wanted to put across?

This album is a collection of declarations and ideas for each one of the members, it’s our greatest collaborative work to date, we have many themes involved in each song, we talk about dark literature, inner struggles, occultism, Left Hand Path, our Satanist philosophy, some touches about World War II, which we consider a crucial period in human history, so it’s totally our manifesto, all our way of thinking painted in a musical piece.

Where and when did you record “The Beast Manifesto”? Are you satisfied with it?

Recording sessions took place during September/November 2017 at Mephisto’s own studio, urvn Studios, in Leon, Mexico. It was the most intense recording period we ever had, taking that we had a hard situation of internal struggles in the band that ended with the leaving of one of our members, it was a shame, but now the feel stronger than ever. So we are full of strength and satisfied with all this material.

Are you gonna to release some official band merch?

Sure, we’re working in some designs for shirts and maybe some patches, so stay aware of our social media for any news.

What are Vst’s musical and non-musical influences?

We take inspiration from many things to write our music, movie soundtracks, classic music, Metal and Rock from 80s to date, books, occultism writings, personal experiences, I mean, there’s so many horrific things in the world that feed our creative mood… I think lately our music is related more to a representation of reality and inner thoughts seen through our eyes.

Could you please express your personal views on religion and god?

Religion is the cancer of mankind, is the heaviest chain used for slavery, it blinds people, stops evolution, it infects minds with such retrograde thoughts, feeds intolerance and closed minds, we all were raised in religious families so we learned to open our eyes and let our demons speak. We respect all believes and we don’t try to convince anyone, if get the message it’s ok, if not, go ahead and let others leave. ¿God? We believe in possible precursors of human knowledge, liberation beings… not a deity.

Shall we expect some gigs across USA or Europe near time?

We have that in plans, not a certain date yet, we need to give some promotion of this album in Mexico, maybe next step will we USA and Europe, but who knows?

When shall fans to expect something new from you? Videoclip, single, documentary etc?

Very soon, we’re trying to deliver new pieces of our material really often, we’re working in a recording documentary, some Track by Track videos, and surely there will be a new videoclip for The Beast Manifesto second single.

Thanks a lot for the interview. Speak out to your fans, supporters, critics and our readers before we wrap up!
