Hail, welcome to Sick And Destroy. Before we start the interview, I would like you to introduce yourself to our readers. To begin with where are you from and a brief history about your band?
Hi, we’re Tempestat from Barcelona, we’ve been playing together for ten months, we recorded our first material at the end of 2017 and we’ve been touring around since then. Right now we’re finishing the recording of the new EP called “Exhaurit” it will be out soon if everything goes as planned.
How would you describe your music? And what bands have influenced you the most?
It’s a raw mix of distortion, violence, depression and schizophrenia. We like Converge, Nails, Trap Them, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Breach, Tragedy, Cursed and things like that…
How many and which albums/demos has Tempestat released so far?
One by now, the self titled “Tempestat” EP Demo.
Which ones happens to be your favourite songs? of Tempestat and personal.
We’re in love especially with “Ja no importa” and two new songs of the unreleased EP, they’re called “Imperi Perible” and “Obsolet”, we like them all though. Personally we listen to a lot of stuff, but some tunes we like: Nails – You’ll never be one of us, Trap Them – Fucking Viva, Converge – All we love we leave behind, Tragedy – Call to arms, Brach – Deadheads…
Do you feel that Tempestat’s music has changed over the years and how?
We should talk about it in ten years haha
How much time does it take for Tempestat to record an album?
Recording the six songs of our last EP took us three days. We’re just focused now on writing and recording without much complications before the LP, it will take longer to finish it for sure.
Tell us something more about the latest EP.
The new EP It’s called “Exhaurit”, it talks about being powerless and exhausted to continue living in this planet, all mixed into a noisy and brutal storm.
Whats next? Working on any new album? If so, some details please.
We plan to make a lot of touring after the summer, visit Europe this time, we’ll go everywhere we can while we write new songs for the next recording.
Any tours, gigs for promotion of latest album?
We’ve been playing the songs of the new recording through the last touring, and we hope keep doing it for the next year.
Any future plans for playing in Europe or USA?
Yeah, we’re looking forward to play in Europe in 2019. We’d love to play in USA too in the future. Even on Mars in 2040, who knows…?
Has Tempestat done any opening acts for other major heavy weight bands? If yes, then when and where?
What do you feel about the Metal Scene there in your country?
It’s really underground, Metal have never been part of the mainstream culture of Spain, so it’s surviving thanks to the people who listen to it, we’re few compared to other scenes but it’s better quality than quantity.
