Interview We Have The Moon

answered by
Makku – Screams, cleans and synth
Gedd – Drums and clean vocals

Hi, We Have The Moon. “Till The Morning Comes” was released couple months ago. You must be excited?

Hi guys! Yes, we are really excited. “Till The Morning Comes” is our first official work, released via Rockshots Records. This means for us the first time that we launched ourselves in the music business and this gives it a very special value. It is the result of many sacrifices and efforts but we are truly satisfied with the project and its evolution.

First of all, we would like to know about the formation of the band. When and how was it formed? Do you think the band name ‘We Have The Moon’ perfectly describes your music and philosophy?

The project was originally pretty different; it was founded by pursuing another genre, far from the current one. Then with Makku passing to the vocals we moved to what we wanted to express. The current project was born in Bologna (Italy) in 2015, after some lineup changes, with Aki (our former bass player), Gedd (drums) and Morse (guitar).
“Till The Morning Comes” was released with Corey on bass, replacing Aki last September.

Our name definitely reflects what we want to put across with this album, because the moon is the representation of the night, in which our songs often take place… We own the night! We Have The Moon!

Okay now tell us something about “Till The Morning Comes”, and the lyrical theme. What are the ideas you wanted to put across?

“Till The Morning Comes” reflects a period we spent in our lives between parties and fun. It talks about a period in which we always wanted to put positive ideas first, drowning our negative feelings in the party. The message is that of a positive reaction to an inner negativity that we’ve had. What we want to put across with this album is indeed a message of positivity, hoping it may help the listener as much as it helped us. Sometimes we intentionally face frivolous and carefree themes, because that’s how we feel during the evenings. The final part of the album, however, describes the moment of gloomy introspection that hits us when we are alone with our thoughts and the bad memories are brought back to our mind.
“Till The Morning Comes” is about the morning that comes after a long party, but also the morning of life. No night can last forever; it will always be followed by a new awakening, a new day, new possibilities.

Where and when did you record “Till The Morning Comes”? Are you satisfied with it?

“Till The Morning Comes” was recorded at Hound Recordings between September and October 2017. In the same place we had previously recorded the single Killer Party, we really liked the result and… Well, we decided to record the album too!

Are you going to release some new official band merch?

We have many projects for the future, we are currently running out of the previous merch line and so… why not… it will probably be released some new merch!

What are We Have The Moon’s musical and non-musical influences?

Musically we all come from quite different backgrounds, the meeting point were our main inspiring bands, such as Enter Shikari, Eskimo Callboy and Bring Me The Horizon. Non-musically we are mainly inspired by everything that happens around us, focusing, especially for this work, on the environment concerning the parties we participate to.

Could you please express your personal views on religion and god?

We firmly think it is right that everyone has their own personal relationship with God. Every choice is worthy of respect, until it doesn’t turn into a form of fanaticism and causes no harm to others.

Pensiamo che sia giusto che ognuno abbia il proprio personale rapporto con Dio. Ogni scelta è degna di rispetto, fino a che non si trasforma in una forma di fanatismo che arreca danno ad altri.

Shall we expect some gigs across USA or Europe near time?

By now we are playing mainly around Italy also as a support for famous bands, we had the honor to play with It Lies Within, The Browning, Oceans Ate Alaska and many more. We have a small European tour behind us and in the future we expect to bring our music out of Italy, maybe some weekends around Europe?

When shall fans to expect something new from you? Videoclip, single, documentary etc?

We have already planned to release a video that has collected the memories of our tour in Italy, which will be released in the upcoming months. We’re also planning the release of another official video by the end of the year.

Thanks a lot for the interview. Speak out to your fans, supporters, critics and our readers before we wrap up!

We send greetings to everyone! Thank you guys and see you soon! Stay Party!
