It’s no secret that Portland, OR has become a hotbed for craft breweries, and it’s also no secret that Decibel is proud to have Portland’s Wayfinder Beer in attendance at this year’s Metal & Beer Fest.
“We are soiling our jeans with excitement to see all of these amazing bands and taste all these beers, especially from 3 Floyds, Trve, Brash and DC Brau,” says Wayfinder’s Orion Landau. “Every band in this line up is stellar, we [are] really excited for Carcass, Integrity, Repulsion, Sumerlands and Horrendous!”
Landau also filled us in on the beers that Wayfinder will be bringing. Don’t miss their appearance along with nineteen other craft breweries and fourteen of the best bands extreme metal has to offer at The Fillmore on March 31 and April 1.
CZECH Decocted Pilsner (5.1% ABV 43 IBU)
A dynamic lager brewed in the Bohemian style, which is to say, with decoction (boiling a portion of the mash), Saaz hops and extended aging. Old gold color, inviting aromas of hops and grains, rich yet lean body, honeyed malt flavors intermingle with a classically spicy, herbal, long-lingering hop finish.
FLOWER IN THE KETTLE Hazy IPA (6.7% ABV 62 IBU)
Bucketloads of juicy Mosaic hops complemented by Amarillo and Simcoe goodness, leading the hop charge with tropical/citrus/berry aromas and flavors. The distinctively awesome hop blend dances over an unfiltered, lightly sweet malt body that provides just the right amount of mouth-filling moreishness.

Metal & Beer Fest FAQs
What are my ticket options?
You can purchase a one- or two-day “Metal & Beer Ticket,” which allows you to watch all bands performing. It also gives you access to samples from all 20 breweries who will be at Decibel Metal and Beer Fest, as well as access to all breweries and bars plus a Decibel Metal and Beer Fest tasting cup.
You may also purchase a one- or two- day “Just Metal” ticket (limited to 500 each day) that grants you access to all four bars on the first floor, as well as the ability to see each band playing. You will also have the opportunity to purchase samples of featured breweries from the bar.
How much does it cost?
“Metal & Beer” tickets are $80 for one day and $150 for both.
“Just Metal” tickets are $42 for one day and $82 for both.
If you bought four craft beers at the fest, you would be spending more than $40. The “Metal and Beer Ticket” pays for itself and then some!
Are the breweries in an area separate from the bands?
No, Decibel Metal & Beer Fest is a fully integrated fan experience. You can walk over to the 3 Floyds table, sample a “Blood of the Sunsets” beer, co-brewed by At the Gates, WHILE you watch At the Gates!
Is the event 21+, even if I purchase a “Just Metal” ticket?
Yes, the event is strictly 21+.
Will there be bottles/cans/etc. available to purchase from the breweries?
Nope. The only way to guarantee you can try every beer you want is to purchase a weekend-long “Metal & Beer Ticket.”
Can I get a “Just Beer” ticket?
No. Leave the hall, poser.
Where can I get tickets to the official Decibel Metal & Beer Fest After Party with Primitive Man and Black Urn?
Why, right here.
Where can I get tickets to the official Decibel Metal & Beer Fest Pre-Show featuring Midnight, Necrot, Powermad and Coffin Dust?
