Interview Bittered

Good day Bittered team! How are you guys doing these days?

We are doing alright thank you! We are really happy about our new upcoming album “Foreign Agenda” and very anxious to get it out there! Hope you are doing alright friend!

First of all, please introduce your band and band members to our readers.

Myself Kasey Vocals / Paul Guitars / Dennis Bass / Reese Drums!

I’d like to know about the formation of the band. How did you guys meet and all. Also, is there any special story behind the band title?

Paul and Dennis have played together in numerous band and started something new and placed an ad for a singer on the craigslist and I answered. At first also had a different bass player met same way (Dennis started the band on drums and moved to 2nd guitar on our last release then bass on the new album). Reese we met through mutual friends and he jumped on drums in time to record our Government Oppression” ep in late 2015. The band name was created by Dennis and it fits well into what we are about, we are bitter some towards Government policies and social injustices,

I expect a long reply for this one. Can you please tell us about the concept and lyrical themes of all your previous releases?

Concept is still the same, Concept of everything we have written up to this point including the new release “Foreign Agenda” is what we feel is wrong Politically and socially in America. Not only in America but every circumstance worldwide with the knowledge we conceive. One of the major lyrical contents that we focus on, on all of our releases thus far is the political agenda conceived by religious beliefs. Other than that there is a wide range of lyrical content based on social injustices and how its perceived or covered up by Government owned media.

Is there any special reason for choosing your music conception?

No special reason as a band we are like minded and purveying an aggressive substance lyrically and musically.

How do you guys manage to create music at all? What challenges do you face while writing and recording an album?

We write music on the spot it isn’t pre-written and it’s more raw when it all comes together. We feed off the moment and each other. And no real challenge we just write what we natural feel at the moment.

Your latest album ‘Foreign Agenda’ will be released on May 12. How was the experience working on the studio? Any funny or even sad happenings during the studio work?

The recording of the album was done by our bassist studio who set up in our practice spot in a small attic. Since everything wasn’t completed writing when we recorded the challenge was getting it tight on the spot and we changed some song structures when we recorded for songs we had done prior to recording the album. The entire experience was funny because we are good friends and joke with each other. Nothing really stands out on this one as far as anything funny or sad, it was just fun in general!

You guys are still underground/underrated, although your music has been appreciated by the critics worldwide. What, according to you, is the reason behind it?

We don’t worry about being underrated or anything because Bittered is something we do to express ourselves and we aren’t concerned with being popular or anything else. We do what we do because we like we do. We always hope more people will discover and find interest in the band but it’s not a motivating factor for us to exist.

Can you throw some light on your past as musicians?

We’ve all played in multiple bands separately and together. If we were to answer this in detail it would take forever and get quite boring for a reader ha ha.

Tell us about your favorite bands, from whom you gain inspiration. Are you having any favorite artist/band that has emerged from metal/rock soil?

We all have different influences and like various music but for me personally (Kasey) Terrorizer / Napalm Death / Disrupt / Noothgrush / just to name a few. And on the last part I’ll say They have been out for a few years but Primitive Man. When I seen Primitive Man live about 2 years ago they just had an unearthly heaviness about them.

How is the metal scene going in your country?

It’s healthy but full of a lot of shit. But also there are a lot of gems in there.

Tell us, if you have played abroad. No, but dying to, can you set up a tour for us?

Are you working on any music videos, might it be videoclip or lyric video?

Yes we are working on a muisic video for the new album, we hope to have 1 complete in the very near future but still in the planning stage at the moment.

Rapid fire section. Just for fun. So just chill, and just type the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear:
* Crust – Rules my life
* Lombardo – New Suicidal Tendencies!
* Asia – Want to tour!
* Scotch – Dry
* ATM – Corruption

Thanks a lot for your time! It’s really nice to know more about you. Would you like to say anything to your fans and our readers?

Hope everyone enjoys the new album and be prepared for more to come (quickly). Thank you for showing interest in us and supporting us and the music scene. Check us out at www.bittered.net for merch and links to our other sites.
