Hail, welcome to Sick And Destroy. Before we start the interview, I would like you to introduce yourself to our readers. To begin with where are you from and a brief history about your band?
Hey hey, I’m Ceekay singer for Dead|Love. The band is a project I decided to start with my good friends Greg Thumb & Norm Cutliff. After taking a 10 year break from making or performing in the Hardcore Music scene, I wanted to get back into it with some fresh blood.
How would you describe your music? And what bands have influenced you the most?
I describe it as Punk/Hardcore but I’m sure it will be called something else. These days there’s so many sun genres, it’s hard to keep track. As far as influences go, there’s a lot as the three of us are very different cats. I know for me some of the influences for this band are Black Flag, Cro-Mags, Pantera & The Gallows.
How many and which albums/demos has DEAD|LOVE released so far?
We have only released our first ep “The Hunger Builds”
Which ones happens to be your favourite songs? of DEAD|LOVE and personal.
I really like the song “Generation” cause it’s fitting for the time & I think everyone can relate in some way.
How much time does it take for DEAD|LOVE to record an album?
We actually wrote & recorded the entire EP in one 8 hour day. Literally from nothing to finished. We played everything live, the only overdubs you hear on the record is some vocals & bass guitar. Keeping the real raw energy was what we wanted.
Tell us something more about the latest album The Hunger Builds.
It’s an expression of the 3 or our minds bottled up in a room with a mission to bleed the kettle so to speak.
What’s next? Working on any new album? If so, some details please.
Currently we have some new material being tweaked. For us it’s about keeping the spontaneity when we are together. That real raw in the moment energy is what we capture for “Dead|Love”
Any tours, gigs for promotion of latest album?
Here n there, hopefully the record picks up some attention and we can get over to Europe and play some shows.
Any future plans for playing in Europe or USA?
Yes I hope so!
Has DEAD|LOVE done any opening acts for other major heavy weight bands? If yes, then when and where?
As a band no, but I spent many years touring around the world with many bands.
What do you feel about the Metal Scene there in your part of USA?
New Mexico actually has a vibrant metal scene. It’s cool to see the young generation coming up, and expanding the scene here.
Any messages for the readers?
