Interview EVIL CONSPIRACY

Hi! Tell me about EVIL CONSPIRACY. Why did you decide to name the band with such title?

A previous singer came up with the band name. I dont really remember where he got it from or what he was thinking? But its a cool name.

“Evil Comes” album was released on February. How does that make you feel?

We are very happy with the album, we think it turned out pretty damn good. And the response has just been overwhelming. Great reviews everywhere. All we really want now is a tour through europe so we can spread our music and show the metalfans what an awesome liveact we are.

Do you feel you have put album into masses without any wishes to change something now?

There is always something that you think “aahhh that could i have played better” but… Naaaw Sometimes the FEEL of a recorded solo, vocal line or something is much more important for the end result so you just leave it. It sounds better!!!

Tell me more about “Evil Comes”? Album ideas etc…

We wanted to have the word EVIL in the albumtitle, just as the last record PRIME EVIL (2014). So we took out these two words from the song “when evil comes to town”.

The songs are about war, death, mercenaries, vikings invading etc.

Where do you take all inspiration from?

Society, movies, news of the world etc.

There is so much shit on this planet so inspiration is everywhere. We also like history, like the song “pagan curse”.

In your opinion, what is the best way to define EVIL CONSPIRACY’s sound?

A mix between… Judas Priest, Accept, Iron maiden, Manowar, testament, forbidden etc.

Heavy thrash metal with melodies!

So, are you on hiatus now, just relaxed and looking for album feedbacks, or did you started to compose new stuff immediately?

As I mentioned earlier we would love a tour through Europe. The metal world need to see us live… On stage is where we belong, much better than cd, vinyl…

We do have riffs and stuff for songs laying that just need to be taken care of. So yes, we do compose all the time, but not 100% yet. We want to play shows.

What are your main musical influences? How huge is their influence in your sound?

I’ve already named them hahaha

Huge, huge influences all of them.

Is there some well-known musician in particular that you would like to use in one of your upcoming albums?

Sure. Maybe guest vocals by UDO.

Glenn Tipton can hardly play these day’s. So heartbreaking, he is one of my all time top five guitarists. To have him on a song would be so cooool… John Petrucci of course!!! Wolf Hoffmann!!!

I don’t know what the other guys in the band thinks, this is only me.

What is your personal strategy for making your music heard by a larger audience?

Nr1. Play live. And that is hard these days. You almost pay to play.

Nr2. Online promotion (faceebook, instagram, twitter etc). Update news as much as you can. And spread it everywhere.

Do you have any other hobby beside music?

Noooooo I dont. But the other guys hunt, fish, play video games etc.

Are you all supported by your relatives towards your devotion to music?

Oh yeah. They are proud of what we have accived. My parents maybe dont like the music so much but they are still very proud.

How’s the metal scene in your part of Sweden right now?

I think its very good. Many bands that are really good. But we fight over a small number of clubs to play in.

Is it easy to play gigs, to buy records etc there these days?

You can get many gigs if you play for free. And thats ok for a while, but it kills the business…

There is a couple of really great record stores in my hometown Örebro. I started to collect vinyls again some years ago. I love it.
