- Hi! Give a brief history of NEVERSIN, music style, and the members.
Hi! We are a hard rock progressive act rockin’ since 2004. Our music style is kind of complicated to explain. We are heavy, melodic and we leave a lot of room for instrumental parts and solos. We get bored easily so we try to incorporate many music styles and different sound scenarios inside the same song. We are very close friends and we like to think we are a family. The current line-up is Ben Moro on vocals, Skench on guitars, Sgana on guitars, Hurt on bass and Albertino on drums.
- Give in more detail, some information about coming The Outside in?
The outside in is kind of a concept album but not quite. I mean, it is not 100% a concept album but it’s not a traditional album either. It is divided in two sides: the dark side, which contains heavier and darker songs and the light side which contains more melodic tunes. We wanted to examine the theme of opposites and how their balance makes everything work.
- NEVERSIN has signed with Revalve Records, tell more about that?
We were looking for a new label and we got in touch with Rob form Revalve. We felt there was a good vibe and we decided to go for it!
- What is the difference between your latest and the very first records?
Uhm… this is a though one… Well, first of all we don’t like to repeat ourselves so you might find a lot of difference between this record and the previous… let alone from the first one! I think we did a great Job on the last album; Ben Moro joined me on the writing team and wrote three songs that gave the album even more variety!
- What inspires NEVERSIN music and lyric writing? What does NEVERSIN lyrics talk about?
We find inspiration in almost everything… books, movies, videogames… and of course our lives.
- Do you play live often? Do you like abroad gigs?
In Italy there is a tough situation for bands that play original music. We are trying our best to play live as much as possible but it’s not that easy, really. Yes, we like abroad gigs! We have the chance to do them from time to time and we enjoy them a lot!
- How often does the band practice and work on new material?
We have kind of a strict policy regarding the new material. Everything that goes on the record must be first of all learned and played live perfectly in the rehearsal room! Therefore, you might say that the first form of any of our song is a live form and then we modify them during the recording process taking advantage of overdubs and all other production tools.
- How did the band come up with the name NEVERSIN and tell what does it means for you?
We wanted something that could reflect our original approach to music (never seen) but also we wanted it to have humour in it and a rocking/badass flavour… so “seen” became “sin”. This “never sin” thing it’s clearly intended in a sarcastic way. We are not puritans! The artwork of our first record says it all, really.
- What does the band plan on doing in near time?
We are going to promote our new work and looking forward to playing it live!!
- Any message to Sick and Destroy readers?
We would like to say to all of you “Thanks and keep on rockin’ guys!!!!” It’s very important these days since there are a lot of forces trying to make metal and rock n’ roll die… but we are not going let that happen! are we!?
