Hi, La Bottega del Tempo a Vapore. Your “Viaggi Inversi” to be released coming April by Revalve records. You must be excited?
Yes, we are so enthusiast for the release of our new album and we really hope that our listeners will be excited too when the album will be released.
First of all, we would like to know about the formation of the band. When and how was it formed? Do you think the band name ‘La Bottega del Tempo a Vapore’ perfectly decribes your music and philosophy?
We started to write and play our music together at the end of 2014. Alfredo Martinelli wrote a story about a Warrior and his magic and historical travel, and we wrote the music to realize our first album called “Il Guerriero Errante”. Everything you can listen from us, is linked to the plot that Alfredo wrote. According to us our name is exactly was we were looking for: We think there is no “best name” at all, but this reminds to old Italian Progressive Rock bands like Premiata Forneria Marconi, or Banco del Muturo Soccorso. You should listen to them! 😀
Okay now tell us something about “Viaggi Inversi”, and the lyrical themes behind each track. What are the ideas you wanted to put across?
First of all the exact name of our second album is “Viaggi inVersi”. Probably you can’t know the meaning because of the italian language, but it’s very different to us. As we told before, our tracks just speak about story, and this new album is the natural evolution of the first one: it speaks about the main characters of “Il Guerriero Errante”, and we think they worth an album their own.
Where and when did you record “Viaggi Inversi”? Are you satisfied with it?
We recorded this album in our private studios, and the master has been made by Domination Studio by Simone Mularoni, probably the best studio for this kind of music in Italy and we are really proud about it!
Are you gonna to release some official band merch?
Yes, we are already selling standard stuff like T-shirts, gadgets and others on our official website and on the main social networks.
What are La Bottega del Tempo a Vapore’s musical and non-musical influences?
We haven’t clear musical influences but if we want to talk about some artists who influenced us, we could say: Dream Theater, Haken, Banco del mutuo soccorso, Premiata Forneria Marconi. Non-musical influences comes from italian and USA writers like: Edgar Allan Poe, Philip Dick, Ernest Hemingway, Andrea Camilleri, Umberto Eco, Tiziano Terzani and Giorgio Faletti.
Could you please express your personal views on religion and god?
We’re six members so we have different opinions about religion; by the way our new work is not related any religious concept; we know, actually it’s not so easy and “careful” to speak about this kind of things… you know what we mean 😀
Shall we expect some gigs across USA or Europe near time?
We’re not sure about them, but it’s our hope to spread our music across these countries and many more.
When shall fans to expect something new (except album of course) from you? Videoclip, single, documentary etc?
Just follow us on our social networks and website, and you probably will discover it by your own 😀
