Track Premiere: Lecherous Nocturne – ‘Psionics’

U.S. technical death metal brutalizers Lecherous Nocturne stand poised to unleash their fourth album, Occultaclysmic, in April. Nine songs use angular riffs, a rhythm section that seems intent on playing their instruments into the dust and an ear for brutality, Occultaclysmic could very well be one of the year’s best technical death metal records. Hear for yourself with a stream of new song “Psionics.”

“Psionics is a track that will stir up the inner conspiracy theorist for some people,” says vocalist Josh Crouse. “To us, it’s a reflection on the likelihood that either our government, the media, or some other powerful entity, is utilizing modern technology as a form of control. Technology has become an addiction in many forms, and this track lyrically expresses interest in the circumstance of a modern day MKUltra.

“Just as the technological society has grown at an explosive pace, so does this track from beginning to end. The punishing chaos of the instrumentation ultimately leads to a spine chilling harmony at the pinnacle of the track, only to fall back into the chaotic storm that carries the song through. This track is sure to get the adrenaline pumping and will set some expectation of what to anticipate in Occultaclysmic.”
