MACHINE HEAD Frontman Suffering From 'Severe Lung Infection'; Cleveland Show Postponed

Tonight’s MACHINE HEAD concert at The Odeon in Cleveland has been postponed due to a “severe lung infection” that shut down frontman Robb Flynn‘s throat mid-show last night in Pittsburgh.

According to a post on MACHINE HEAD‘s Facebook page, “Robb is going to a throat specialist today to find out the status of the infection, and what, if any other shows will be affected. Promoters and agents are looking into all options to reschedule the date towards the end of the tour, or to a later date.”

A video message from Robb explaining last night’s abbreviated performance in Pittsburgh can be seen below.

MACHINE HEAD is touring in support of its latest album, “Catharsis”, which was released on January 26 via Nuclear Blast. The effort was made available in several formats, including a CD/DVD digipak edition which contains footage of MACHINE HEAD‘s 2015 concert at San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom.

The follow-up to 2014’s “Bloodstone & Diamonds”, “Catharsis” was produced by Flynn and was recorded, mixed, and co-produced by Zack Ohren (FALLUJAH, ALL SHALL PERISH) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California. Mastering was handled by Ted Jensen (HATEBREED, ALICE IN CHAINS, DEFTONES) at Sterling Sound in New York. Cover photography was created by Seanen Middleton.

The North American tour in support of “Catharsis” kicked off on January 25 in Mesa, Arizona.
