QUEENSRŸCHE Guitarist Dismisses GEOFF TATE Reunion Talk: 'We Are Doing Great' With TODD LA TORRE

QUEENSRŸCHE guitarist Michael Wilton has once again dimissed talk of a reunion with the band’s original singer, Geoff Tate.

Todd La Torre joined QUEENSRŸCHE as the replacement for Tate after the latter was fired in 2012.

QUEENSRŸCHE has released two albums thus far with the former CRIMSON GLORY frontman on vocals: 2013’s “Queensrÿche” and 2015’s “Condition Hüman”.

Asked in a brand new interview with the Atlantic City Weekly how fans have responded to La Torre, Wilton said: “Everybody has taken Todd La Torre into the fold and we are doing great with him. All of the hardcore QUEENSRŸCHE fans are saying that he is the new voice of QUEENSRŸCHE, so we are very, very happy, because we have been working for the last five years to build this.”

Pressed about whether he thinks there will ever be a reunion with Tate, Wilton said: “Not at this point. We’ve rebuilt our career with Todd and it’s going amazingly and we wouldn’t want to change that.”

Wilton also offered an update on the songwriting process for QUEENSRŸCHE‘s next album, which is tentatively due in late 2018 via Century Media.

“We’ve been writing diligently and putting together song ideas and we will are hoping to begin recording sometime in January and have the album out as soon as we can get it out,” he said.

Helming QUEENSRŸCHE‘s new record once again will be Chris “Zeuss” Harris, who previously worked on 2015’s “Condition Hüman”.

Back in July, Tate gave an interview to the “92 Minutes Of Hair With Mel” show on the Las Vegas, Nevada radio station KOMP 92.3 where he revealed that he had “a really nice little reunion” with his former bandmates on June 30 when they all performed the Rock Fest Barcelona festival in Barcelona.

Todd told the “Trunk Nation” radio show in August that his meeting with Tate was “a nice, complimentary exchange. We shook each other’s hands, we did a little selfie. He was nice to me, I was nice to him. So, should there ever be another time where we’re in the same area, it’s nice to know that he could walk up to me or I could walk up to him, or whatever, and it’s fine. So that was good.”
