Diagnosis – one of latest bands I have got from Mexico, I like Mexican scene, and Diagnosis just proved me that Mexico kills, hehe!

Hi! Tell me about Diagnosis. Why did you decide to name the band with such title? What kind of ideas do you explore?

As the Word means by itself; it is the truth gotten on through the observation and the idea of our work it’s to let people know on thru our own experience or point of view about what we talk about in our album / albums. As well, “Diagnosis” is a powerful meaning word you know. We, at this first work explore different matters into the human mind such as illnesses and pathologies mainly, based on some writings of a particular man named Daniel Schreber who was diagnosed with, at that time dementia praecox. But in fact; we might be working on this topics subsequently.

When exactly “Symphaty For Disease” was released officially? How does that make you feel? Do you feel you have put album into masses without any wished to change something now?

Officially “Sympathy for Disease” was released on July 1st, 2015 but was available only in digital platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Amazon mp3, Google play, Breezed, and the like as part of an global strategy, subsequently in physical format was released until Oct 30, 2015 just to reach domestic market initially and after that to cover the global market, available on thru our website: www.diagnosismetal.com.

Obviously, it makes feel better you know and all our efforts were focused on our new target: promotion on the CD. This takes Diagnosis on the follow question; and answer is Yes … all the time we feel that, the wishes to change something, probably the overall sounding, a different mix down, new intros – outros, bla bla … but, is certain that are new ideas for next work.

Tell me more about “Symphaty For Disease”? Album ideas etc…

The running of “Sympathy for Disease” was extremely exciting, from the beginning it was good welcoming by the abroad scene; for example … with some months of it releasing, it was nominated as Album of the year by Headbangers Latinoamerica what was for us a tremendous hit, it take place on November 2015, at February 2016 our track “Heilen Dämonisch” was taken to be part of the “Latin-American Fear Candy” a metal compilation to the Magazine “Terrorizer” what was included in issue #268.

As well; was nominated in March 2016 as Heavy Metal Best Album by Akademia Music Awards, located at Hollywood, CA and in April 30, 2016 Diagnosis was awarded with this prize: Best Heavy Metal album.

In May 2016, Diagnosis was nominated as Best Death Metal Band by Kalani Music Awards based on Mexico City. Some that we won’t know about results until Jun 25, 2016.

All these nominations and awards … let us … frighten.

Where do you take all inspiration from?:

Inspiration comes along different ways. Musically; from listening a broad range of music masters not necessarily metal musicians but also people into jazz, blues and progressive rock. For lyrics regularly from writings and researching based on human mind and it complexity.

In your opinion, what is the best way to define Diagnosis’s sound?

Rawness … in a simple word. Diagnosis owns a raw and direct sound that enters in your ears and let your head explode.

So, are you on hiatus now, just relaxed and looking for album feedbacks, or did you started to compose new stuff immediately?

It is an excellent question; meanwhile most of the bands are promoting and expecting for reviews and album feedbacks, Diagnosis continue working on gigs / venues and of course composing that take us to the next answer; yes … we’re on the new stuff path.

What are your main musical influences? How huge is their influence in your sound?

Our influences are strong in our sound that came from classical 90s death metal bands, raw, powerful and direct such as: Death, Bolt thrower, Grave, suffocation, maceration … the mainly.

Is there some well-known musician in particular that you would like to use in one of your upcoming albums?

Names could come to us so far; but first of all we want to explore our own capabilities & abilities. Then we’d like to explore some domestic well-known musicians and finally abroad, you know all must be a step-by-step strategy.

What is your personal strategy for making your music heard by a larger audience?

Digital platforms the main, but by engaging domestic and abroad compilations with recognized media groups and as well work together with global managing. Brazil is a good example of that; we’re sounding full time in a continues growing metal head people; with a ~200Million people crowd … it’s crazy.

Do you have any other hobby beside music?.

Yes all the legal hobbies and other not so legal (just kidding) … by the way, you know … reading, fishing, follow sport matches, resting, jogging, biking, and this kind of stuffs.

Are you all supported by your relatives towards your devotion to music?

Absolutely yes … all their support is total to all of us.

How’s the metal scene in Mexico right now? Is it easy to play gigs, to buy records etc there these days?

Mexican scene It is very ambiguous, on the one hand it is solid, with bands already consecrated and very powerful, with much support lately by organizers/promoters and local bars but on the other hand is weak, given to the retrograde ideology of the fans and additionally some bands have childish and useless competition without in any way to improve the scene and their music. Also, you can play in the same place and getting different response from the audience.
Regarding festivals; yes are very good efforts to promote different kind of festivals mainly in an independent manner and growing up in fact. Gigs are in the same situation.
Buy records is the easiest; meanwhile to sell or at least to sell our own material is a bit complicated until people know very well what we’re offering, that’s the challenge.

Thank you for answering my questions, see ya on the road! / Lukasz

We really appreciate your support and time; we are extremely keen to continue working for all of you. Thanks.
