Interview Children of Seraph

They are young, they are new on the scene, but they really able to kick ass by their music! Children Of Seraph of USA!

Hi! Tell me about Children of Seraph. Why did you decide to name the band with such title? What kind of ideas do you explore?

The name of the band came from our guitarist Nathanyel’s father. Back in Nathanyel’s high school band, the singer wanted the band to have a Seraph as a mascot. So when Nathanyel told this idea to his dad, he simply responded with the name “Children of Seraph.” The name went unused for his high school band, but when Nathanyel formed this band, he decided to put the name Children of Seraph to use.

“Warriors Of Light” album will be released on July 1st. How does that make you feel? Do you feel you have put album into masses without any wished to change something now?

It makes us feel fantastic. We put in a LOT of money into this album. We spent a total of 4 straight weeks recording it. We feel like we did everything perfectly and there’s nothing we could go back and change.

Tell me more about “Warriors Of Light”? Album ideas etc…

Well for starters, the album name ended up being an unintentional reference to the game Final Fantasy. The main protagonist in the game is called the “Warrior of Light,” but we simply came up with that name because it sounded really Power Metal.

Are you going to play some shows as album support?

Yes, we are going to be playing some local shows for the next couple of months and then in November we will be heading off to Europe to tour and eventually heading to Japan in March of 2017.

Where do you take all inspiration from?

We take our inspiration from Video Game music Anime music, and Classical music.

In your opinion, what is the best way to define Children of Seraph’s sound?

Heavy Metal influenced by Video Games, Anime and Classical music.

So, are you on hiatus now, just relaxed and looking for album release date, feedbacks, or did you started to compose new stuff immediately?

We are currently still playing shows, prepping for our tour and have been writing new material for our eventual second album.

What are your main musical influences? How huge is their influence in your sound?

Our main musical influences are definitely Helloween and Iron Maiden. Their music pretty much helped us forge our sound.

Is there some well-known musician in particular that you would like to use in one of your upcoming albums?

At the moment, not really. We would love to play a show with Metallica though!

What is your personal strategy for making your music heard by a larger audience?

Promoting heavily on the internet. Whether it’s Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Game Forums, etc.

Do you have any other hobby beside music?

We play a lot of video games, watch a lot of anime, and talk about/share memes.

Are you all supported by your relatives towards your devotion to music?

Yes we are. Thankfully we have very supportive parents who push us to pursue our passion of music.

How’s the metal scene in USA right now? Is it easy to play gigs, to buy records etc there these days?

We’ve only played shows in Washington state so it’s kind of hard to say. Getting gigs can sometimes be tough for us. Even though we have a European and Japan tour set up, as well as opening for huge acts like Helloween and Primal Fear, there are still some venues that just aren’t interested in booking us. But maybe that will change when our album is officially released.

Thank you for answering my questions, see ya on the road! / Lukasz
